  • Description: Discussion and book signing with John Mackey, co-founder, and former Whole Foods Market CEO. During his visit, he discussed revolutionary business practices that include a higher sense of purpose.
  • Role: Communication and project manager. Promoted presentation and book signing using digital media, print and public relations.
  • Positive outcome: Increased awareness of the book, store foot traffic by 10% and book sales by 65%.
  • My favorite part: The book publicist was thrilled with the outcome of the event and said it was the most successful book signing she had ever been part of.

  • Role: Operations leader, negotiator, organizer, event planner and decision-maker.

  • Description: A great event that promoted the Monterey Bay Aquarium Seafood Watch® program. This innovative guide helps businesses and consumers make wiser purchasing decisions.
  • Role: Lead marketing manager for a regional sponsored event
  • Positive outcome: Increased brand affinity and lifted seafood sales by 10%.
  • My favorite part: To have worked for an industry leader that partners with highly respected organizations.

A Challenging Activity

  • Project: Grand OpeningWhole Foods Market, Jacksonville, FL.
  • Description: 50,000-square-foot store opens in the “city of bridges”, in a new market during a recession with many uncertainties.
  • Role: Pioneer, managed P&L statements, and community relations.
  • Positive outcome: Implemented successful store opening activities by kicking off a YMCA partnership; 1000 attended 2 days before the grand opening. Created strong and long-lasting ties to the community by partnering with more than 30 organizations.
  • My favorite part: Seeing store sales increase by 15% annually and original partnerships growing stronger year after year.
